A Message From the Executive Board
Today’s generation of college students grew up in an interconnected world. Globalization has shaped not only our childhood, but also our outlook for the future. With this trend of emerging nation development in mind, this stimulating issue of the Dartmouth Business Journal aims to explore some of the most exciting areas of business that transcends distance, language, and political boundaries. From investment opportunities in Africa to China, patent battles on the global stage, to economic instability in Cuba, international business is the recurring theme for this issue.
In addition, we included articles on the acquisition of Instagram by Facebook, a profile of Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jose Fernandez ’77, and a sprinkling of few other U.S.-related pieces. We believe that what Uncle Sam does or says reverberates around the globe, and so what happens in America has far-reaching effects in both distance and time.
We hope you enjoy traveling around the world in this issue of the DBJ.
Sincerely, DBJ Executive Board
